Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: 11 July 2026
This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how cancellations and refunds work for paid subscriptions to Self-Control, provided by Skadi International Corporation ("the Provider", "we", "us"). It supplements our Terms of Service → "Plans, billing, and renewals"; if there is any conflict, the Terms govern.
1. Merchant of record
Payments for the paid Pro plan are processed by Paddle, who acts as the merchant of record and reseller. Paddle handles billing, applicable taxes (VAT/GST/sales tax), invoicing, and payment-method data, and your purchase is also subject to Paddle's buyer terms. Refunds are issued through Paddle to your original payment method.
2. Free plan
The Free plan is, and stays, free — there is nothing to bill and nothing to refund. You can use it for as long as you like without entering payment details.
3. Cancelling your subscription
You can cancel a paid subscription at any time from Settings → Billing on the web app (or via the Manage billing link on the mobile Profile tab, which opens the web billing page).
- Cancellation stops the next auto-renewal. To be refunded for a charge you've already paid, request a refund within the 14-day window (see § 4).
- You keep Pro access until the end of the period you have already paid for; the plan then drops to Free.
- Changed your mind? You can resume a cancelled subscription any time before that date — it keeps renewing on your existing period at no extra charge.
- Nothing is deleted on downgrade. Pro-only items above the Free limits (extra tasks, owned teams) are paused, not removed — they stay in your account and can be reactivated if you resubscribe.
4. Refunds
If you're not satisfied with a paid subscription, you can request a full refund within 14 days of the charge. This applies to your initial purchase and to each renewal charge. We refund the charge in full to your original payment method through Paddle, and you don't need to give a reason.
5. Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live, including any statutory right of withdrawal or cancellation. Where a statutory refund is due, we honour it in addition to the 14-day window above.
To claim a statutory refund outside the in-app 14-day window, email support@self-control.app with your account email and the receipt or order reference.
6. How to request a refund
Within the 14-day window, you may request a refund from the web app at Settings → Billing by selecting Request a refund; no reason is required. The request refunds your most recent charge in full, cancels your subscription, and ends Pro access immediately. Items exceeding the Free plan's limits are paused rather than deleted, and your data is retained.
- Requests are transmitted to Paddle immediately upon submission.
- The refund is issued by Paddle to your original payment method; the time for funds to appear depends on your bank or card issuer.
7. Chargebacks
If you think a charge is wrong, please contact us first — we can usually resolve it faster than a bank dispute. Opening a chargeback without contacting us may lead to the related account or subscription being suspended while the dispute is investigated.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service evolves. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you in-app or by email.
